2. How the Lord views backsliders		 PreviousNext

PRO 26:11. As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly.

JER 2:13. For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.

JER 2:19. Thine own wickedness shall correct thee, and thy backslidings shall reprove thee: know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and bitter, that thou hast forsaken the LORD thy God, and that my fear is not in thee, saith the Lord GOD of hosts.

LUK 9:62. And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

HEB 10:38. Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.

2PE 2:22. But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.
