A. What we as Christians are supposed to do:MAR 16:15. And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. B. Beware of no concern to win the lost:ISA 56:10. His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber. ISA 56:11. Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter. JER 50:6. My people hath been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray, they have turned them away on the mountains: they have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their restingplace. EZE 34:4. The diseased have ye not strengthened, neither have ye healed that which was sick, neither have ye bound up that which was broken, neither have ye brought again that which was driven away, neither have ye sought that which was lost; but with force and with cruelty have ye ruled them. EZE 34:5. And they were scattered, because there is no shepherd: and they became meat to all the beasts of the field, when they were scattered. EZE 34:6. My sheep wandered through all the mountains, and upon every high hill: yea, my flock was scattered upon all the face of the earth, and none did search or seek after them. EZE 34:8. As I live, saith the Lord GOD, surely because my flock became a prey, and my flock became meat to every beast of the field, because there was no shepherd, neither did my shepherds search for my flock, but the shepherds fed themselves, and fed not my flock; JOH 10:12. But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep. JOH 10:13. The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep. EZE 33:6. But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand. C. Hypocrisy among believers turns men from salvation:ROM 2:17. Behold, thou art called a Jew, and restest in the law, and makest thy boast of God, ROM 2:18. And knowest his will, and approvest the things that are more excellent, being instructed out of the law; ROM 2:19. And art confident that thou thyself art a guide of the blind, a light of them which are in darkness, ROM 2:20. An instructor of the foolish, a teacher of babes, which hast the form of knowledge and of the truth in the law. ROM 2:21. Thou therefore which teachest another, teachest thou not thyself? thou that preachest a man should not steal, dost thou steal? ROM 2:22. Thou that sayest a man should not commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery? thou that abhorrest idols, dost thou commit sacrilege? ROM 2:23. Thou that makest thy boast of the law, through breaking the law dishonourest thou God? ROM 2:24. For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles through you, as it is written. MAT 23:13. But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in. LUK 11:52. Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered. |
