A. His promises of comfort:

PSA 71:21. Thou shalt increase my greatness, and comfort me on every side.

PSA 86:17. Shew me a token for good; that they which hate me may see it, and be ashamed: because thou, LORD, hast holpen me, and comforted me.

PSA 91:15. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.

PSA 116:6. The LORD preserveth the simple: I was brought low, and he helped me.

PSA 138:7. Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me: thou shalt stretch forth thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me.

ISA 42:6. I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;

ISA 43:2. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

ISA 49:13. Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O mountains: for the LORD hath comforted his people, and will have mercy upon his afflicted.

ISA 51:12. I, even I, am he that comforteth you: who art thou, that thou shouldest be afraid of a man that shall die, and of the son of man which shall be made as grass;

ISA 51:13. And forgettest the LORD thy maker, that hath stretched forth the heavens, and laid the foundations of the earth; and hast feared continually every day because of the fury of the oppressor, as if he were ready to destroy? and where is the fury of the oppressor?

ISA 66:13. As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you; and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem.

JOH 14:18. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

JOH 14:1. Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

JOH 14:2. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

JOH 14:3. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

2CO 1:3. Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;

2CO 7:6. Nevertheless God, that comforteth those that are cast down, comforted us by the coming of Titus;

2TH 2:16. Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,

2TH 2:17. Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.

PSA 103:6. The LORD executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.

PHI 2:1. If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,

PHI 2:2. Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

B. The Lord is always with you to comfort you:

PSA 121:4. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

2CO 1:4. Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

C. The Holy Spirit the Comforter will comfort you:

JOH 14:26. But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

JOH 15:26. But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:

JOH 14:16. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

JOH 14:17. Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

ACT 9:31. Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied.
