DEU 33:9. Who said unto his father and to his mother, I have not seen him; neither did he acknowledge his brethren, nor knew his own children: for they have observed thy word, and kept thy covenant.

PSA 45:10. Hearken, O daughter, and consider, and incline thine ear; forget also thine own people, and thy father's house;

PSA 45:11. So shall the king greatly desire thy beauty: for he is thy Lord; and worship thou him.

MAT 10:36. And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

MAT 10:37. He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

MAT 12:48. But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?

MAT 12:49. And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!

MAT 12:50. For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

MAR 1:20. And straightway he called them: and they left their father Zebedee in the ship with the hired servants, and went after him.

B. Sometimes even marriage:

MAT 19:29. And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.

LUK 18:29. And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of God's sake,

LUK 14:26. If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

C. Following Jesus comes before family obligations:

LUK 9:59. And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.

LUK 9:60. Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God.

LUK 9:61. And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house.
