A. Christians rewarded or punished for their works:ROM 14:10. But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. ROM 14:11. For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. ROM 14:12. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. 2COR 5:10. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. REV 22:12. And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. B. Jesus praises & rewards some is ashamed of others:DAN 12:3. And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever. MAT 25:21. His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. 1COR 3:11. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 1COR 3:12. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; 1COR 3:13. Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. 1COR 3:14. If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 1COR 3:15. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. MAR 8:38. Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels. DAN 12:2. And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. C. The crown of life -- A reward for faithful service:REV 2:10. Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life. JAM 1:12. Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. 2TIM 4:7. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: 2TIM 4:8. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. |
