A. Access to God:ROM 5:2. By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. EPH 3:11. According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord: EPH 3:12. In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him. B. God's love:PSA 32:10. Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the LORD, mercy shall compass him about. JOH 16:27. For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God. C. Righteousness & purity:GEN 15:6. And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness. ROM 4:1. What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found? ROM 4:2. For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God. ROM 4:3. For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. ROM 4:4. Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. ROM 4:5. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. ACT 15:9. And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith. ROM 4:8. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin. ROM 4:9. Cometh this blessedness then upon the circumcision only, or upon the uncircumcision also? for we say that faith was reckoned to Abraham for righteousness. ROM 9:30. What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith. PHI 3:9. And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: D. The Holy Spirit:JOH 7:38. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. JOH 7:39. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.) GAL 3:14. That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. E. Protection against the devil's attacks & lies:EPH 6:16. Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. F. Rewards in Heaven:JOH 14:1. Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. JOH 14:2. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. JOH 14:3. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. HEB 11:13. These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. HEB 11:16. But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city. G. Conviction to witness our faith:2COR 4:13. We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak; H. Spiritual strength:PSA 27:13. I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. PSA 31:24. Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD. ISA 26:4. Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength: ISA 30:15. For thus saith the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not. 1JOH 5:4. For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. I. Stability:2CH 20:20. And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper. PSA 125:1. They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever. J. Joy:PSA 33:21. For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name. PSA 146:5. Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God: PRO 16:20. He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusteth in the LORD, happy is he. ACT 16:34. And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house. 1PE 1:8. Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: K. Understanding:HEB 11:3. Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. L. Protection:PSA 5:11. But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee. PSA 115:1. Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth's sake. PRO 29:25. The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe. PRO 30:5. Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. JER 39:17. But I will deliver thee in that day, saith the LORD: and thou shalt not be given into the hand of the men of whom thou art afraid. JER 39:18. For I will surely deliver thee, and thou shalt not fall by the sword, but thy life shall be for a prey unto thee: because thou hast put thy trust in me, saith the LORD. HEB 11:31. By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace. JOSH 2:1. And JOSH ua the son of Nun sent out of Shittim two men to spy secretly, saying, Go view the land, even Jericho. And they went, and came into an harlot's house, named Rahab, and lodged there. JOSH 2:2. And it was told the king of Jericho, saying, Behold, there came men in hither to night of the children of Israel to search out the country. JOSH 2:3. And the king of Jericho sent unto Rahab, saying, Bring forth the men that are come to thee, which are entered into thine house: for they be come to search out all the country. JOSH 2:4. And the woman took the two men, and hid them, and said thus, There came men unto me, but I wist not whence they were: JOSH 2:5. And it came to pass about the time of shutting of the gate, when it was dark, that the men went out: whither the men went I wot not: pursue after them quickly; for ye shall overtake them. JOSH 2:6. But she had brought them up to the roof of the house, and hid them with the stalks of flax, which she had laid in order upon the roof. JOSH 2:7. And the men pursued after them the way to Jordan unto the fords: and as soon as they which pursued after them were gone out, they shut the gate. JOSH 2:8. And before they were laid down, she came up unto them upon the roof; JOSH 2:9. And she said unto the men, I know that the LORD hath given you the land, and that your terror is fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land faint because of you. JOSH 2:10. For we have heard how the LORD dried up the water of the Red sea for you, when ye came out of Egypt; and what ye did unto the two kings of the Amorites, that were on the other side Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom ye utterly destroyed. JOSH 2:11. And as soon as we had heard these things, our hearts did melt, neither did there remain any more courage in any man, because of you: for the LORD your God, he is God in heaven above, and in earth beneath. JOSH 2:12. Now therefore, I pray you, swear unto me by the LORD, since I have shewed you kindness, that ye will also shew kindness unto my father's house, and give me a true token: JOSH 2:13. And that ye will save alive my father, and my mother, and my brethren, and my sisters, and all that they have, and deliver our lives from death. JOSH 2:14. And the men answered her, Our life for yours, if ye utter not this our business. And it shall be, when the LORD hath given us the land, that we will deal kindly and truly with thee. JOSH 2:15. Then she let them down by a cord through the window: for her house was upon the town wall, and she dwelt upon the wall. JOSH 2:16. And she said unto them, Get you to the mountain, lest the pursuers meet you; and hide yourselves there three days, until the pursuers be returned: and afterward may ye go your way. JOSH 2:17. And the men said unto her, We will be blameless of this thine oath which thou hast made us swear. JOSH 2:18. Behold, when we come into the land, thou shalt bind this line of scarlet thread in the window which thou didst let us down by: and thou shalt bring thy father, and thy mother, and thy brethren, and all thy father's household, home unto thee. JOSH 2:19. And it shall be, that whosoever shall go out of the doors of thy house into the street, his blood shall be upon his head, and we will be guiltless: and whosoever shall be with thee in the house, his blood shall be on our head, if any hand be upon him. JOSH 2:20. And if thou utter this our business, then we will be quit of thine oath which thou hast made us to swear. JOSH 2:21. And she said, According unto your words, so be it. And she sent them away, and they departed: and she bound the scarlet line in the window. JOSH 2:22. And they went, and came unto the mountain, and abode there three days, until the pursuers were returned: and the pursuers sought them throughout all the way, but found them not. JOSH 6:17. And the city shall be accursed, even it, and all that are therein, to the LORD: only Rahab the harlot shall live, she and all that are with her in the house, because she hid the messengers that we sent. JOSH 6:22. But JOSH ua had said unto the two men that had spied out the country, Go into the harlot's house, and bring out thence the woman, and all that she hath, as ye sware unto her. JOSH 6:23. And the young men that were spies went in, and brought out Rahab, and her father, and her mother, and her brethren, and all that she had; and they brought out all her kindred, and left them without the camp of Israel. JOSH 6:24. And they burnt the city with fire, and all that was therein: only the silver, and the gold, and the vessels of brass and of iron, they put into the treasury of the house of the LORD. JOSH 6:25. And JOSH ua saved Rahab the harlot alive, and her father's household, and all that she had; and she dwelleth in Israel even unto this day; because she hid the messengers, which JOSH ua sent to spy out Jericho. M. Provision:PSA 33:18. Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy; PSA 33:19. To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine. PSA 37:3. Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. JER 17:7. Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. JER 17:8. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit. MAL 3:10. Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. N. Healing:PSA 42:11. Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God. MAR 5:25. And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, MAR 5:26. And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, MAR 5:27. When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. MAR 5:28. For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. MAR 5:29. And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. MAR 5:34. And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague. MAR 10:51. And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight. MAR 10:52. And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way. LUK 8:49. While he yet spake, there cometh one from the ruler of the synagogue's house, saying to him, Thy daughter is dead; trouble not the Master. LUK 8:50. But when Jesus heard it, he answered him, saying, Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole. JAM 5:14. Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: JAM 5:15. And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. O. Desires of your heart:PSA 37:4. Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. PSA 37:5. Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. P. Resurrection from the dead:JOB 19:25. For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: JOB 19:26. And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God: JOB 19:27. Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins be consumed within me. JOH 11:25. Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: JOH 11:26. And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? 1COR 15:12. Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead? 1COR 15:13. But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen: 1COR 15:14. And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain. 1COR 15:15. Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not. 1COR 15:16. For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised: 1COR 15:17. And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. 1COR 15:18. Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished. 1COR 15:19. If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. 1COR 15:20. But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. |
