A. Genuine believing faith has tremendous power:MAR 9:23. Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. LUK 7:50. And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace. LUK 18:42. And Jesus said unto him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee. JOH 14:12. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. ACT 6:8. And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people. JAM 5:15. And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. B. "Faith as a grain of mustard seed":MAT 17:20. And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. MAT 21:21. Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done. MAT 21:22. And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. MAR 11:22. And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. MAR 11:23. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. LUK 17:6. And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you. C. Faith trusts God to do outright miracles:NUM 13:26. And they went and came to Moses, and to Aaron, and to all the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh; and brought back word unto them, and unto all the congregation, and shewed them the fruit of the land. NUM 13:27. And they told him, and said, We came unto the land whither thou sentest us, and surely it floweth with milk and honey; and this is the fruit of it. NUM 13:28. Nevertheless the people be strong that dwell in the land, and the cities are walled, and very great: and moreover we saw the children of Anak there. NUM 13:29. The Amalekites dwell in the land of the south: and the Hittites, and the Jebusites, and the Amorites, dwell in the mountains: and the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and by the coast of Jordan. NUM 13:30. And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it. JOSH 14:6. Then the children of Judah came unto JOSH ua in Gilgal: and Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite said unto him, Thou knowest the thing that the LORD said unto Moses the man of God concerning me and thee in Kadeshbarnea. JOSH 14:12. Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the LORD spake in that day; for thou heardest in that day how the Anakims [were] there, and [that] the cities [were] great [and] fenced: if so be the LORD [will be] with me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as the LORD said. 1SAM 17:37. David said moreover, The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the LORD be with thee. LUK 18:27. And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God. HEB 11:11. Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised. HEB 11:29. By faith they passed through the Red sea as by dry land: which the Egyptians assaying to do were drowned. HEB 11:30. By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about seven days. HEB 11:33. Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions. HEB 11:34. Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. HEB 11:35. Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection: D. Answer to prayer depends on our faith; the Lord can do anything but we need to believe:MAT 9:27. And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, Thou son of David, have mercy on us. MAT 9:28. And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord. MAT 9:29. Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you. MAT 9:30. And their eyes were opened; and Jesus straitly charged them, saying, See that no man know it. MAT 8:13. And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour. MAT 17:19. Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out? MAT 17:20. Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour. MAR 5:22. And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet, MAR 5:23. And besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live. MAR 5:35. While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue's house certain which said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further? MAR 5:36. As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe. MAR 5:41. And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise. MAR 5:42. And straightway the damsel arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment. MAR 9:23. Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. MAR 11:23. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. LUK 1:45. And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord. JOH 11:40. Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God? F. Persevering faith:MAT 15:22. And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil. MAT 15:23. But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us. MAT 15:24. But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. MAT 15:25. Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. MAT 15:26. But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs. MAT 15:27. And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table. MAT 15:28. Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour. MAR 10:46. And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging. MAR 10:47. And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me. MAR 10:48. And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou son of David, have mercy on me. MAR 10:49. And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee. MAR 10:50. And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus. MAR 10:51. And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight. MAR 10:52. And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way. G. Faith & patience:ROM 8:25. But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. HEB 6:12. That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises. HEB 6:15. And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise. HEB 10:35. Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. HEB 10:36. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. JAM 1:3. Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. |
