A. Begin with a clean heart; unconfessed sin in your life will hinder faith:PSA 66:18. If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me: PSA 66:19. But verily God hath heard me; he hath attended to the voice of my prayer. PRO 28:13. He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy. JAM 5:16. Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. 1JOH 3:21. Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God. 2CH 7:14. If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. PSA 51:10. Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. PSA 139:23. Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: 1JOH 1:8. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 1JOH 1:9. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. B. Prepare by memorising promises; find authority in God's Word & faith will come of itself:ROM 10:17. So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. JOS 23:14. And, behold, this day I am going the way of all the earth: and ye know in all your hearts and in all your souls, that not one thing hath failed of all the good things which the LORD your God spake concerning you; all are come to pass unto you, and not one thing hath failed thereof. 1KI 8:56. Blessed be the LORD, that hath given rest unto his people Israel, according to all that he promised: there hath not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant. PRO 7:2. Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye. PRO 7:3. Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart. MAT 24:35. Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. 2CO 1:20. For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us. 2PE 1:4. Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. C. Be definite:ISA 45:11. Thus saith the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker, Ask me of things to come concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hands command ye me. JAM 1:6. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. JAM 1:7. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. JAM 1:8. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. D. Expect from God; know you are entitled to His promises:MAR 11:23. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. MAR 11:24. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. HEB 4:16. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. HEB 11:6. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. E. Accept from God; there comes a time to cease praying:JOS 7:10. And the LORD said unto Joshua, Get thee up; wherefore liest thou thus upon thy face? LUK 1:38. And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her. F. Stand your ground in faith & trust:NUM 23:19. God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? PSA 112:7. He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD. ACT 27:25. Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me. ROM 3:4. God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged. ROM 4:19. And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah's womb: ROM 4:20. He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; ROM 4:21. And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. GAL 6:9. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. EPH 4:27. Neither give place to the devil. EPH 6:13. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. EPH 6:16. Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. HEB 10:23. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) HEB 10:35. Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. HEB 10:36. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. 1PE 1:7. That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: PRO 24:10. If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small. JON 2:8. They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy. G. Real faith puts into action what it believes:2KI 5:1. Now Naaman, captain of the host of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, and honourable, because by him the LORD had given deliverance unto Syria: he was also a mighty man in valour, but he was a leper. 2KI 5:9. So Naaman came with his horses and with his chariot, and stood at the door of the house of Elisha. 2KI 5:10. And Elisha sent a messenger unto him, saying, Go and wash in Jordan seven times, and thy flesh shall come again to thee, and thou shalt be clean. 2KI 5:11. But Naaman was wroth, and went away, and said, Behold, I thought, He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of the LORD his God, and strike his hand over the place, and recover the leper. 2KI 5:12. Are not Abana and Pharpar, rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? may I not wash in them, and be clean? So he turned and went away in a rage. 2KI 5:13. And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father, if the prophet had bid thee do some great thing, wouldest thou not have done it? how much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean? 2KI 5:14. Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God: and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean. 2CH 20:21. And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the LORD, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the LORD; for his mercy endureth for ever. 2CH 20:22. And when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten. MAT 14:28. And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. MAT 14:29. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. MAR 2:11. I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house. MAR 2:12. And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion. MAR 3:1. And he entered again into the synagogue; and there was a man there which had a withered hand. MAR 3:5. And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other. LUK 17:14. And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed. JOH 4:47. When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judaea into Galilee, he went unto him, and besought him that he would come down, and heal his son: for he was at the point of death. JOH 4:48. Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe. JOH 4:49. The nobleman saith unto him, Sir, come down ere my child die. JOH 4:50. Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way. JOH 4:51. And as he was now going down, his servants met him, and told him, saying, Thy son liveth. JOH 4:52. Then enquired he of them the hour when he began to amend. And they said unto him, Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him. JOH 4:53. So the father knew that it was at the same hour, in the which Jesus said unto him, Thy son liveth: and himself believed, and his whole house. 2CO 5:7. (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) JAM 2:17. Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. JAM 2:18. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. JAM 2:19. Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. JAM 2:20. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? JAM 2:21. Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? JAM 2:22. Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? JAM 2:23. And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. JAM 2:24. Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. JAM 2:25. Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way? JAM 2:26. For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. H. Thank Him for hearing & answering your prayer:ROM 4:20. For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. |
