A. He lets us choose within the boundary of His overall will:

1SAM 10:7. And let it be, when these signs are come unto thee, that thou do as occasion serve thee; for God is with thee.

2SAM 24:11. For when David was up in the morning, the word of the LORD came unto the prophet Gad, David's seer, saying,

2SAM 24:12. Go and say unto David, Thus saith the LORD, I offer thee three things; choose thee one of them, that I may do it unto thee.

2SAM 24:13. So Gad came to David, and told him, and said unto him, Shall seven years of famine come unto thee in thy land? or wilt thou flee three months before thine enemies, while they pursue thee? or that there be three days' pestilence in thy land? now advise, and see what answer I shall return to him that sent me.

2SAM 24:14. And David said unto Gad, I am in a great strait: let us fall now into the hand of the LORD; for his mercies are great: and let me not fall into the hand of man.

2SAM 24:15. So the LORD sent a pestilence upon Israel from the morning even to the time appointed: and there died of the people from Dan even to Beersheba seventy thousand men.

1KI 3:5. In Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: and God said, Ask what I shall give thee.

1KI 3:9. Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people?

1KI 3:10. And the speech pleased the LORD, that Solomon had asked this thing.

1COR 7:36. But if any man think that he behaveth himself uncomely toward his virgin, if she pass the flower of her age, and need so require, let him do what he will, he sinneth not: let them marry.

1COR 10:27. If any of them that believe not bid you to a feast, and ye be disposed to go; whatsoever is set before you, eat, asking no question for conscience sake.

B. Our plans should be subject to the will of God:

JAM 4:13. Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:

JAM 4:14. Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.

JAM 4:15. For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.

ACT 18:21. But bade them farewell, saying, I must by all means keep this feast that cometh in Jerusalem: but I will return again unto you, if God will. And he sailed from Ephesus.

ROM 1:10. Making request, if by any means now at length I might have a prosperous journey by the will of God to come unto you.

1COR 4:19. But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord will, and will know, not the speech of them which are puffed up, but the power.

1COR 16:7. For I will not see you now by the way; but I trust to tarry a while with you, if the Lord permit.

HEB 6:3. And this will we do, if God permit.

C. Be sure you're right before going ahead:

ROM 14:22. Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth.

ROM 14:23. And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

D. In love consider the effect of your actions on others:

ROM 14:15. But if thy brother be grieved with thy meat, now walkest thou not charitably. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ died.
