The Law of God

6. Now the commandment is to love God & our neighbour:

A. This fulfils the law & fulfils your only obligation:

MAT 7:12. Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

LUK 6:31. And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.

MAT 22:36. Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

MAT 22:37. Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

MAT 22:38. This is the first and great commandment.

MAT 22:39. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

MAT 22:40. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

ROM 13:8. Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.

ROM 13:10. Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

GAL 5:14. For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

JAM 2:8. If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:

MAR 12:29. And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:

MAR 12:30. And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

MAR 12:31. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

B. Deeds done in pure unselfish love are lawful:

GAL 5:22. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

GAL 5:23. Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

1COR 6:12. All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.

1COR 10:23. All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.

TIT 1:15. Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.

LUK 11:41. But rather give alms of such things as ye have; and, behold, all things are clean unto you.

C. But you have to have faith for your actions:

ROM 14:14. I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean.

ROM 14:22. Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth.

ROM 14:23. And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

TIT 1:15. Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.
