A. Children will often be no better than their parents:

EZE 16:44. Behold, every one that useth proverbs shall use this proverb against thee, saying, As is the mother, so is her daughter.

B. Good influence of parents:

1KI 9:4. And if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded thee, and wilt keep my statutes and my judgments:

2CH 17:3. And the LORD was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the first ways of his father David, and sought not unto Baalim;

2CH 26:4. And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father Amaziah did.

2CH 20:32. And he walked in the way of Asa his father, and departed not from it, doing that which was right in the sight of the LORD.

2TIM 1:5. When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.

C. Evil influence of parents:

1KI 22:52. And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the way of his father, and in the way of his mother, and in the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin:

2CH 22:3. He also walked in the ways of the house of Ahab: for his mother was his counsellor to do wickedly.

JER 9:14. But have walked after the imagination of their own heart, and after Baalim, which their fathers taught them:

EZE 20:18. But I said unto their children in the wilderness, Walk ye not in the statutes of your fathers, neither observe their judgments, nor defile yourselves with their idols:
