PreviousNext

A. Exhortations to obey pastors & spiritual brethren:

HEB 13:17. Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

HEB 13:7. Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.

1CO 11:1. Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.

PHI 3:17. Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample.

1CO 16:16. That ye submit yourselves unto such, and to every one that helpeth with us, and laboureth.

2CO 2:9. For to this end also did I write, that I might know the proof of you, whether ye be obedient in all things.

B. Obeying wholeheartedly as unto the Lord & not unto men:

EPH 6:5. Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ;

EPH 6:6. Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;

COL 3:22. Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God;

COL 3:23. And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;

COL 3:24. Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.

PHLM 1:21. Having confidence in thy obedience I wrote unto thee, knowing that thou wilt also do more than I say.
