A. Let the Lord have His way in your life:JOB 1:21. And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD. ISA 64:8. But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand. MAT 6:10. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. JOH 3:30. He must increase, but I must decrease. ROM 12:1. I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. JAM 4:7. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. MAT 26:39. And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt. LUK 1:38. And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her. ROM 6:13. Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. ROM 6:16. Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? B. Submit your plans to God:HEB 6:3. And this will we do, if God permit. JAM 4:15. For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that. C. Obeying God even when it hurts:GEN 22:2. And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of. GEN 22:12. And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me. HEB 11:17. By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, HEB 11:18. Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called: HEB 11:19. Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure. JER 42:6. Whether it be good, or whether it be evil, we will obey the voice of the LORD our God, to whom we send thee; that it may be well with us, when we obey the voice of the LORD our God. MAT 26:38. Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me. MAT 26:39. And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt. MAT 26:40. And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour? MAT 26:41. Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. MAT 26:42. He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done. MAT 26:43. And he came and found them asleep again: for their eyes were heavy. MAT 26:44. And he left them, and went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words. MAT 26:45. Then cometh he to his disciples, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. MAT 26:46. Rise, let us be going: behold, he is at hand that doth betray me. MAT 26:47. And while he yet spake, lo, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and elders of the people. MAT 26:48. Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he: hold him fast. MAT 26:49. And forthwith he came to Jesus, and said, Hail, master; and kissed him. MAT 26:50. And Jesus said unto him, Friend, wherefore art thou come? Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus and took him. MAT 26:51. And, behold, one of them which were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest's, and smote off his ear. MAT 26:52. Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword. MAT 26:53. Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels? MAT 26:54. But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be? LUK 22:44. And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground. JOH 18:11. Then said Jesus unto Peter, Put up thy sword into the sheath: the cup which my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it? D. Yield to God & pray for His leading:PSA 27:11. Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies. PSA 139:23. Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: PSA 139:24. And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. PSA 143:10. Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness. E. Yielding to God spares you from judgments:2CH 30:8. Now be ye not stiffnecked, as your fathers were, but yield yourselves unto the LORD, and enter into his sanctuary, which he hath sanctified for ever: and serve the LORD your God, that the fierceness of his wrath may turn away from you. MAT 21:44. And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder. |
