7. Joy in children & in grandchildren: |

PRO 17:6. Children's children are the crown of old men; and
the glory of children are their fathers.
GEN 37:3. Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of
his old age: and he made him a coat of many colours.
RTH 4:13. So Boaz took Ruth, and she was his wife: and when he went in unto her, the
LORD gave her conception, and she bare a son.
RTH 4:14. And the women said unto Naomi, Blessed be the LORD, which hath not left thee
this day without a kinsman, that his name may be famous in Israel.
RTH 4:15. And he shall be unto thee a restorer of thy life, and a nourisher of thine
old age: for thy daughter in law, which loveth thee, which is better to thee than seven
sons, hath born him.
RTH 4:16. And Naomi took the child, and laid it in her bosom, and became nurse unto it.
LUK 1:5. THERE was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named
Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name
was Elisabeth.
LUK 1:6. And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and
ordinances of the Lord blameless.
LUK 1:7. And they had no child, because that Elisabeth was barren, and they both were
now well stricken in years.
LUK 1:13. But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard;
and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John.
LUK 1:18. And Zacharias said unto the angel, Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old
man, and my wife well stricken in years.
LUK 1:19. And the angel answering said unto him, I am Gabriel, that stand in the
presence of God; and am sent to speak unto thee, and to shew thee these glad tidings.
LUK 1:20. And, behold, thou shalt be dumb, and not able to speak, until the day that
these things shall be performed, because thou believest not my words, which shall be
fulfilled in their season. |
