A. Our war against the devil:

2COR 10:3. For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:

2COR 10:4. (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)

2COR 10:5. Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

EPH 6:10. Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

EPH 6:11. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

EPH 6:12. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

EPH 6:13. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

B. Be on guard against & resist & defy the devil:

1PE 5:8. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

1PE 5:9. Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

EPH 4:27. Neither give place to the devil.

MAT 4:10. Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

MAR 8:33. But when he had turned about and looked on his disciples, he rebuked Peter, saying, Get thee behind me, Satan: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but the things that be of men.

C. Promises to claim when fighting & overcoming the devil:

ISA 59:19. So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.

MAT 16:19. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

LUK 10:19. Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

ROM 16:20. And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

JAM 4:7. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

JO1 2:14. I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one.

JO1 4:4. Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

D. Be prepared for battle when confronting the devil:

MAT 12:29. Or else how can one enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.

MAR 9:29. And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.

ACT 19:13. Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the LORD Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth.

ACT 19:14. And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so.

ACT 19:15. And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?

ACT 19:16. And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.

ACT 19:17. And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also dwelling at Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified.

E. United prayer for deliverance of the oppressed:

MAT 18:19. Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

MAT 18:20. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

ECC 4:9. Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.

ECC 4:10. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.

ECC 4:11. Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone?

ECC 4:12. And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

F. They must get filled up with Jesus & Word once they're delivered; or they may end up worse than they were at first:

LUK 11:24. When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out.

LUK 11:25. And when he cometh, he findeth it swept and garnished.

LUK 11:26. Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.

MAT 12:43. When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.

MAT 12:44. Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.
