Prayer

2. Conditions to getting prayer answered:
PreviousNext

A. Pray in faith:

MAT 21:21. Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.

MAT 21:22. And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

MAR 11:24. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

ROM 4:21. And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.

HEB 11:6. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

JAM 1:5. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

JAM 1:6. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

JAM 1:7. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

MAT 17:18. And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour.

MAT 17:19. Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out?

MAT 17:20. And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

LUK 7:1. Now when he had ended all his sayings in the audience of the people, he entered into Capernaum.

LUK 7:2. And a certain centurion's servant, who was dear unto him, was sick, and ready to die.

LUK 7:3. And when he heard of Jesus, he sent unto him the elders of the Jews, beseeching him that he would come and heal his servant.

LUK 7:4. And when they came to Jesus, they besought him instantly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should do this:

LUK 7:5. For he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue.

LUK 7:6. Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof:

LUK 7:7. Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.

LUK 7:8. For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.

LUK 7:9. When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.

LUK 7:10. And they that were sent, returning to the house, found the servant whole that had been sick.

B. Obey God & do His will:

JOH 9:31. Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.

JOH 15:7. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

1JOH 3:22. And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.

ISA 58:6. Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?

ISA 58:7. Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?

ISA 58:8. Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy rereward.

ISA 58:9. Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity;

C. Submit yourself to God & pray according to His will:

PSA 143:10. Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness.

MAT 6:10. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

LUK 22:42. Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.

JOH 5:30. I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

1JOH 5:14. And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

D. Pray humbly:

DAN 9:18. O my God, incline thine ear, and hear; open thine eyes, and behold our desolations, and the city which is called by thy name: for we do not present our supplications before thee for our righteousnesses, but for thy great mercies.

LUK 18:10. Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.

LUK 18:11. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.

LUK 18:12. I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.

LUK 18:13. And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.

LUK 18:14. I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

JAM 4:6. But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
