Protection


1. Trusting in the Lord is your only sure refuge:

A. Safety & protection are of the Lord:

PSA 127:1. Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.

PRO 21:31. The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the LORD.

B. The Lord is able to protect you:

EXO 6:6. Wherefore say unto the children of Israel, I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with a stretched out arm, and with great judgments:

EXO 6:7. And I will take you to me for a people, and I will be to you a God: and ye shall know that I am the LORD your God, which bringeth you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.

ZEPH 3:17. The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest

in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.

ISA 59:1. Behold, the LORD's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:

ROM 4:21. And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.

EPH 3:20. Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

C. The Lord is your defence & protective shield:

DEU 33:27. The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them.

PSA 3:3. But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.

PSA 5:12. For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.

PSA 89:18. For the LORD is our defence; and the Holy One of Israel is our king.

PSA 115:11. Ye that fear the LORD, trust in the LORD: he is their help and their shield.

ISA 33:16. He shall dwell on high: his place of defence shall be the munitions of rocks: bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure.

PSA 18:35. Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy right hand hath holden me up, and thy gentleness hath made me great.

PSA 107:41. Yet setteth he the poor on high from affliction, and maketh him families like a flock.

D. He is your tower & fortress your high rock:

2SA 22:2. And he said, The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;

2SA 22:3. The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.

PSA 9:9. The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.

PSA 61:3. For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.

PSA 62:6. He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.

PSA 71:2. Deliver me in thy righteousness, and cause me to escape: incline thine ear unto me, and save me.

PSA 71:3. Be thou my strong habitation, whereunto I may continually resort: thou hast given commandment to save me; for thou art my rock and my fortress.

PSA 71:4. Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man.

PSA 91:2. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

PRO 18:10. The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.

E. He is your protection in times of great danger:

ISA 25:4. For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.

NAH 1:6. Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him.

NAH 1:7. The LORD [is] good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.

ZEPH 2:3. Seek ye the LORD, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the LORD'S anger.

PSA 46:1. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

PSA 46:2. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;

PSA 46:3. Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.

PSA 46:4. There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.

PSA 46:5. God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.

F. The Lord is your hiding place:

PSA 27:5. For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.

PSA 32:7. Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.

PSA 119:114. Thou art my hiding place and my shield: I hope in thy word.

PSA 143:9. Deliver me, O LORD, from mine enemies: I flee unto thee to hide me.
