3. The Lord can protect you from:

A. The enemy's traps & snares:

PSA 91:3. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

PSA 124:6. Blessed be the LORD, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth.

PSA 124:7. Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.

PSA 141:10. Let the wicked fall into their own nets, whilst that I withal escape.

B. Disease & epidemics:

EXO 15:26. And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.

DEU 7:15. And the LORD will take away from thee all sickness, and will put none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which thou knowest, upon thee; but will lay them upon all them that hate thee.

PSA 91:3. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

PSA 91:10. There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

C. Injury:

PSA 34:20. He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken.

PSA 91:11. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

PSA 91:12. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

MAR 16:18. They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

D. Fire & burning:

PSA 29:7. The voice of the LORD divideth the flames of fire.

ISA 43:2. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

DAN 3:25. He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.

DAN 3:27. And the princes, governors, and captains, and the king's counsellors, being gathered together, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was an hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them.

E. Drowning:

PSA 107:23. They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters;

PSA 107:24. These see the works of the LORD, and his wonders in the deep.

PSA 107:25. For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof.

PSA 107:26. They mount up to the heaven, they go down again to the depths: their soul is melted because of trouble.

PSA 107:27. They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wit's end.

PSA 107:28. Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses.

PSA 107:29. He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.

PSA 107:30. Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven.

ISA 43:2. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

MAT 8:23. And when he was entered into a ship, his disciples followed him.

MAT 8:24. And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep.

MAT 8:25. And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish.

MAT 8:26. And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.

MAT 8:27. But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!

MAT 14:23. And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone.

MAT 14:24. But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary.

MAT 14:25. And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.

MAT 14:26. And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.

MAT 14:27. But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.

MAT 14:28. And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.

MAT 14:29. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.

MAT 14:30. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.

MAT 14:31. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?

MAT 14:32. And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.

ACT 27:14. But not long after there arose against it a tempestuous wind, called Euroclydon.

ACT 27:15. And when the ship was caught, and could not bear up into the wind, we let her drive.

ACT 27:16. And running under a certain island which is called Clauda, we had much work to come by the boat:

ACT 27:17. Which when they had taken up, they used helps, undergirding the ship; and, fearing lest they should fall into the quicksands, strake sail, and so were driven.

ACT 27:18. And we being exceedingly tossed with a tempest, the next day they lightened the ship;

ACT 27:19. And the third day we cast out with our own hands the tackling of the ship.

ACT 27:20. And when neither sun nor stars in many days appeared, and no small tempest lay on us, all hope that we should be saved was then taken away.

ACT 27:21. But after long abstinence Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said, Sirs, ye should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss.

ACT 27:22. And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man's life among you, but of the ship.

ACT 27:23. For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve,

ACT 27:24. Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee.

ACT 27:25. Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.

ACT 27:26. Howbeit we must be cast upon a certain island.

ACT 27:27. But when the fourteenth night was come, as we were driven up and down in Adria, about midnight the shipmen deemed that they drew near to some country;

ACT 27:28. And sounded, and found it twenty fathoms: and when they had gone a little further, they sounded again, and found it fifteen fathoms.

ACT 27:29. Then fearing lest we should have fallen upon rocks, they cast four anchors out of the stern, and wished for the day.

ACT 27:30. And as the shipmen were about to flee out of the ship, when they had let down the boat into the sea, under colour as though they would have cast anchors out of the foreship,

ACT 27:31. Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, Except these abide in the ship, ye cannot be saved.

ACT 27:32. Then the soldiers cut off the ropes of the boat, and let her fall off.

ACT 27:33. And while the day was coming on, Paul besought them all to take meat, saying, This day is the fourteenth day that ye have tarried and continued fasting, having taken nothing.

ACT 27:34. Wherefore I pray you to take some meat: for this is for your health: for there shall not an hair fall from the head of any of you.

ACT 27:35. And when he had thus spoken, he took bread, and gave thanks to God in presence of them all: and when he had broken it, he began to eat.

ACT 27:36. Then were they all of good cheer, and they also took some meat.

ACT 27:37. And we were in all in the ship two hundred threescore and sixteen souls.

ACT 27:38. And when they had eaten enough, they lightened the ship, and cast out the wheat into the sea.

ACT 27:39. And when it was day, they knew not the land: but they discovered a certain creek with a shore, into the which they were minded, if it were possible, to thrust in the ship.

ACT 27:40. And when they had taken up the anchors, they committed themselves unto the sea, and loosed the rudder bands, and hoised up the mainsail to the wind, and made toward shore.

ACT 27:41. And falling into a place where two seas met, they ran the ship aground; and the forepart stuck fast, and remained unmoveable, but the hinder part was broken with the violence of the waves.

ACT 27:42. And the soldiers' counsel was to kill the prisoners, lest any of them should swim out, and escape.

ACT 27:43. But the centurion, willing to save Paul, kept them from their purpose; and commanded that they which could swim should cast themselves first into the sea, and get to land:

ACT 27:44. And the rest, some on boards, and some on broken pieces of the ship. And so it came to pass, that they escaped all safe to land.

JON 1:4. But the LORD sent out a great wind into the sea, and there was a mighty tempest in the sea, so that the ship was like to be broken.

JON 1:11. Then said they unto him, What shall we do unto thee, that the sea may be calm unto us? for the sea wrought, and was tempestuous.

JON 1:12. And he said unto them, Take me up, and cast me forth into the sea; so shall the sea be calm unto you: for I know that for my sake this great tempest is upon you.

JON 1:13. Nevertheless the men rowed hard to bring it to the land; but they could not: for the sea wrought, and was tempestuous against them.

JON 1:14. Wherefore they cried unto the LORD, and said, We beseech thee, O LORD, we beseech thee, let us not perish for this man's life, and lay not upon us innocent blood: for thou, O LORD, hast done as it pleased thee.

JON 1:15. So they look up Jonah, and cast him forth into the sea: and the sea ceased from her raging.

JON 1:16. Then the men feared the LORD exceedingly, and offered a sacrifice unto the LORD, and made vows.

JON 1:17. Now the LORD had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.

JON 2:3. For thou hadst cast me into the deep, in the midst of the seas; and the floods compassed me about: all thy billows and thy waves passed over me.

JON 2:10. And the LORD spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.

1PE 3:20. Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.

GEN 7:23. And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark.

F. Death:

PSA 41:2. The LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies.

DAN 6:27. He delivereth and rescueth, and he worketh signs and wonders in heaven and in earth, who hath delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.

G. Dangers while travelling:

GEN 28:15. And, behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of.

EXO 23:20. Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared.

DEUT 28:6. Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out.

PSA 105:13. For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb.

PSA 105:14. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

PSA 105:15. My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.

PSA 121:8. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

PSA 139:9. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;

PSA 139:10. Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.

PRO 2:8. He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints.

JOH 10:4. And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.

EXO 33:14. And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.

PSA 37:23. The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.

ISA 55:12. For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap theirhands.

ISA 63:9. In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old.

H. Every kind of evil:

JOB 5:19. He shall deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee.

JOB 5:20. In famine he shall redeem thee from death: and in war from the power of the sword.

JOB 5:21. Thou shalt be hid from the scourge of the tongue: neither shalt thou be afraid of destruction when it cometh.

JOB 5:22. At destruction and famine thou shalt laugh: neither shalt thou be afraid of the beasts of the earth.

PSA 46:1. To the chief Musician for the sons of Korah, A Song upon Alamoth. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

PSA 46:2. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;

PSA 46:3. Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.

PSA 121:7. The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.

LK 10:19. Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

2TH 3:3. But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.

2 TIM 4:18. And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
