A. By loving & obeying His Word:JOH 14:21. He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. DEU 11:1. Therefore thou shalt love the LORD thy God, and keep his charge, and his statutes, and his judgments, and his commandments, alway. JOB 23:12. Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food. PSA 119:20. My soul breaketh for the longing that it hath unto thy judgments at all times. PSA 119:40. Behold, I have longed after thy precepts: quicken me in thy righteousness. PSA 119:131. I opened my mouth, and panted: for I longed for thy commandments. 1JOH 3:22. And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. 1JOH 5:3. My soul hath kept thy testimonies; and I love them exceedingly. B. By worshipping Him in prayer:PSA 18:1. I will love thee, O LORD, my strength. PSA 18:3. I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies. PSA 63:1. O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; PSA 63:2. To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary. PSA 63:3. Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee. PSA 63:4. Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name. PSA 91:14. Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. PSA 91:15. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. PSA 116:1. I love the LORD, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications. And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. 1JOH 4:20. If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? 1JOH 4:21. And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also. D. By listening to His voice:1SA 3:9. Therefore Eli said unto Samuel, Go, lie down: and it shall be, if he call thee, that thou shalt say, Speak, LORD; for thy servant heareth. So Samuel went and lay down in his place. 1SA 3:10. The Lord GOD hath opened mine ear, and I was not rebellious, neither turned away back. E. By obeying following & serving Him:JOH 10:27. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: JOH 12:26. If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour. JOH 15:10. If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. DEU 10:12. And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul, DEU 10:13. To keep the commandments of the LORD, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good? JOSH 24:14. Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the LORD. 1SA 12:24. Only fear the LORD, and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you. EPH 6:7. With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men: HEB 12:28. Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: F. By self-sacrifice & giving our lives in love:MAT 10:38. And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. JOH 10:17. Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. 1COR 15:31. I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our LORD, I die daily. 2COR 11:23. But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye. H. By giving to Him & supporting His work:PRO 3:9. Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: LEV 27:30. And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the LORD's: it is holy unto the LORD. 1COR 9:6. Or I only and Barnabas, have not we power to forbear working? 1COR 9:7. Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? 1COR 9:8. Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? 1COR 9:9. For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? 1COR 9:10. Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. 1COR 9:11.
