A. We must please God & be obedient:MAT 6:33. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. 2CH 1:7. In that night did God appear unto Solomon, and said unto him, Ask what I shall give thee. 2CH 1:8. And Solomon said unto God, Thou hast shewed great mercy unto David my father, and hast made me to reign in his stead. 2CH 1:9. Now, O LORD God, let thy promise unto David my father be established: for thou hast made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude. 2CH 1:10. Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people: for who can judge this thy people, that is so great? 2CH 1:11. And God said to Solomon, Because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honour, nor the life of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life; but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayest judge my people, over whom I have made thee king: 2CH 1:12. Wisdom and knowledge is granted unto thee; and I will give thee riches, and wealth, and honour, such as none of the kings have had that have been before thee, neither shall there any after thee have the like. PSA 34:9. O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him. PSA 34:10. The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing. PSA 37:3. Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. PSA 37:18. The LORD knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever. PSA 37:19. They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied. PSA 37:25. I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. PSA 84:11. For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. PRO 13:25. The righteous eateth to the satisfying of his soul: but the belly of the wicked shall want. ISA 1:19. If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: 1JOH 3:22. And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. DEU 11:10. For the land, whither thou goest in to possess it, is not as the land of Egypt, from whence ye came out, where thou sowedst thy seed, and wateredst it with thy foot, as a garden of herbs: DEU 11:11. But the land, whither ye go to possess it, is a land of hills and valleys, and drinketh water of the rain of heaven: DEU 11:12. A land which the LORD thy God careth for: the eyes of the LORD thy God are always upon it, from the beginning of the year even unto the end of the year. DEU 11:13. And it shall come to pass, if ye shall hearken diligently unto my commandments which I command you this day, to love the LORD your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul, DEU 11:14. That I will give you the rain of your land in his due season, the first rain and the latter rain, that thou mayest gather in thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil. DEU 11:15. And I will send grass in thy fields for thy cattle, that thou mayest eat and be full. DEU 29:9. Keep therefore the words of this covenant, and do them, that ye may prosper in all that ye do. PSA 111:5. He hath given meat unto them that fear him: he will ever be mindful of his covenant. B. Examples of obeying & doing our part first:1KI 17:2. And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, 1KI 17:3. Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan. 1KI 17:4. And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there. 1KI 17:5. So he went and did according unto the word of the LORD: for he went and dwelt by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan. 1KI 17:9. Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee. 1KI 17:10. So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, the widow woman was there gathering of sticks: and he called to her, and said, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink. 2KI 4:1. Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the LORD: and the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen. 2KI 4:2. And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil. 2KI 4:3. Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbours, even empty vessels; borrow not a few. 2KI 4:4. And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and shalt pour out into all those vessels, and thou shalt set aside that which is full. 2KI 4:5. So she went from him, and shut the door upon her and upon her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured out. 2KI 4:6. And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed. MAT 17:27. Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea, and cast an hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: that take, and give unto them for me and thee. LUK 5:4. Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught. LUK 5:5. And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net. LUK 5:6. And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake. JOH 2:1. And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there: JOH 2:2. And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage. JOH 2:3. And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine. JOH 2:4. Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come. JOH 2:5. His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it. JOH 2:6. And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece. JOH 2:7. Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim. JOH 2:8. And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it. JOH 2:9. When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom, JOH 2:10. And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now. JOH 11:39. Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days. JOH 21:5. Then Jesus saith unto them, Children, have ye any meat? They answered him, No. JOH 21:6. And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes. C. Pray believe God's Word & depend on Him to supply:MAT 7:7. Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: MAT 21:22. And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. HEB 11:6. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. 2CH 26:5. And he sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God: and as long as he sought the LORD, God made him to prosper. ISA 45:11. Thus saith the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker, Ask me of things to come concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hands command ye me. MAT 9:29. Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you. D. Remember to thank Him for supplying:PSA 68:19. Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah. PSA 116:12. What shall I render unto the LORD for all his benefits toward me? PSA 116:13. I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD. PSA 116:14. I will pay my vows unto the LORD now in the presence of all his people. PSA 116:17. I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the LORD. PSA 116:18. I will pay my vows unto the LORD now in the presence of all his people. |
