Unity

1. Unity or disunity?
PreviousNext

A. The Lord wants us to have unity:

PSA 133:1. Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!

1COR 1:10. Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

2COR 13:11. Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.

PHI 1:27. Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;

B. What He thinks of disunity:

PRO 6:16. These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:

PRO 6:19. A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

JAM 3:14. But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.

JAM 3:15. This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.
