A. Neither threats persecution nor martyrdom should stop us:LUK 21:12. But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake. LUK 21:13. And it shall turn to you for a testimony. LUK 21:14. Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer: LUK 21:15. For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist. ACT 4:29. And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word, ACT 4:31. And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness. ACT 4:33. And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all. ACT 14:1. And it came to pass in Iconium, that they went both together into the synagogue of the Jews, and so spake, that a great multitude both of the Jews and also of the Greeks believed. ACT 14:2. But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles, and made their minds evil affected against the brethren. ACT 14:3. Long time therefore abode they speaking boldly in the Lord, which gave testimony unto the word of his grace, and granted signs and wonders to be done by their hands. ACT 20:24. But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God. 1TH 2:2. But even after that we had suffered before, and were shamefully entreated, as ye know, at Philippi, we were bold in our God to speak unto you the gospel of God with much contention. REV 6:9. And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: REV 12:11. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. REV 20:4. And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. B. Witness even if man's laws forbid it:AMO 7:12. Also Amaziah said unto Amos, O thou seer, go, flee thee away into the land of Judah, and there eat bread, and prophesy there: AMO 7:13. But prophesy not again any more at Bethel: for it is the king's chapel, and it is the king's court. AMO 7:14. Then answered Amos, and said to Amaziah, I was no prophet, neither was I a prophet's son; but I was an herdman, and a gatherer of sycomore fruit: AMO 7:15. And the LORD took me as I followed the flock, and the LORD said unto me, Go, prophesy unto my people Israel. MAT 10:16. Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. LUK 10:3. Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves. ACT 4:17. But that it spread no further among the people, let us straitly threaten them, that they speak henceforth to no man in this name. ACT 4:18. And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. ACT 4:19. But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye. ACT 4:20. For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard. ACT 5:27. And when they had brought them, they set them before the council: and the high priest asked them, ACT 5:28. Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us. ACT 5:29. Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men. ACT 5:40. And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go. ACT 5:41. And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name. ACT 5:42. And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ. |
